Who am I?

  • I am a Beverly Hills High School (BHHS) senior with a wide range of interest, skills and activities.
  • I live with my family in Beverly Hills. My mom is a doctor in private practice in internal medicine and cardiology. My dad is an information technology consultant and soccer enthusiast. My younger sister is a sophomore at BHHS.
  • I am applying to colleges this year and want to concentrate in the sciences. My current focus in on chemical engineering, though I am open to other course options.

What are my interests?

  • I have devoted a tremendous portion of my life to soccer:
    • learning soccer skills with 20 to 30 hours a week of practice, scrimmages and games
    • playing on my Premier Division Coast Soccer League team, LA Force
    • attending local and international games, including our local professional LA Galaxy team the US men's and women's National team games, Women's World Cup, Men's World Cup and NCAA women's championships.
  • I enjoy working on websites and singly-handedly created and produced the BHHS Internet edition of our school newspaper, Highlights.
  • I have expanded my interest in amateur photography to include working on text and media.
  • I enjoy reading a wide range of literature.

What are my skills?

  • I know how to focus my attention and can sustain that focus for a prolonged period of time.
  • I can understand and complete AP level courses in both math/science and liberal arts.
  • I can create and edit websites using commercially available software.
  • I am proficient in my use of Microsoft Word, FrontPage, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher.
  • I am comfortable in the use of film and digital photography, including creating images, developing photographs and the manipulation of digital images.

What are my activities?

  • I play soccer on my high school Varsity team and run track and hurdles on my high school track and field team.

  • I play Premier league soccer with my club team, LA Force. We train 3 to 4 days a week and play most weekends, participating in many regional and national tournaments. In 1999, we arranged international play with the women's national team in Guadalajara.

  • I carry my digital camera with me wherever I go, photographing images that I see as well as documenting my activities.
  • I created and produced the Internet edition of our high school newspaper from 1998 to 2000. Since I believe that the mark of a true leader is training their own replacement, I am working on this responsibility by training the most capable student to take over as Internet Editor.
  • I spent last summer assisting in clinical research for a medical research institute.
